The trainer of WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs), Kenny Ellis, expressed his skepticism regarding the legacy of two-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs), dismissing the acclaim Usyk receives from fans and experts alike.
"I can’t evaluate Usyk because this guy came out of nowhere in the last few years. He wouldn’t even make my top 10 or top 20.
Fans don’t know fighters from the past; they only know fighters from the present. Even the contenders from that era would beat today’s world champions," said Ellis.
