Former world champion Tony Bellew has shared his thoughts on the upcoming grudge match between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr., set for April 26 in London.
“I see this fight playing out in two halves. The first half will belong to Conor Benn. Eubank won’t be able to handle him for the first six rounds.
But if Eubank survives that, the momentum shifts — that’s when his size advantage starts to matter.”
Bellew didn’t mince words about Eubank’s style or self-perception:
“I don’t think Eubank is a great boxer. He’s better as a fighter. I don’t know where he got this idea that he’s the second coming of Roy Jones Jr.
Conor, on the other hand, knows exactly who he is — he steps in, lets his hands go. He’s reckless, wild, explosive, dynamic… and he’ll need all of that on fight night.
Because honestly, his only chance to win is to do it in the first six rounds.”
The highly anticipated fight between the sons of British boxing legends takes place on April 26.
