"To Hell with Rollie": Prograis Calls Out the Champion

Former lightweight (up to 63,5 kg) champion American Regis Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs) stated that he no longer wants a fight against former WBA champion Rolando Romero (15-2, 13 KOs).

"To hell with Romero. I want a fight against Pitbull for the belt," Prograis tweeted.

Regis became the WBC champion in 2022 after defeating Jose Zepeda. In his second defense, Prograis lost the belt to Devin Haney and has not fought since then.

On the night of March 31st, Rolando Romero lost the WBA belt to Mexican Isaac Cruz. After the fight, Isaac stated that he is ready for any opponent and a possible unification of the belts.
