TKO and Dana White Plan to Block Sanctioning Body Presidents from Entering the Ring for Canelo–Crawford

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman revealed that TKO Boxing Promotion, headed by Dana White, is prohibiting the presidents of the sanctioning bodies from presenting belts to the winner of the Saul Alvarez vs Terence Crawford fight. On the line will be the undisputed Super Middleweight championship.

«The fact that the belts being contested cannot be presented — this is written in the rules and regulations. It’s in the contracts. It’s standard practice all over the world. How can you expect the best fighters in the world to compete for a championship title if the rules are not respected, and official representatives — the presidents of the four organizations — are denied? It’s absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable to think that presidents cannot perform their duties. There has been absolutely no response. Not a word about all the standard things that usually happen in an undisputed fight — between two champions who have remained at the top for 14 years (Canelo) and 12 years (Crawford). I am disappointed.

I haven’t spoken with Dana White. I sent him a letter several months ago and received no response. They appointed someone to communicate with the WBC, but even he didn’t answer the specific question.
