WBA welterweight champion (up to 66.7 kg) Eimantas Stanionis (15-0, 9 KOs) addressed the other belt-holders in his division.
The Lithuanian boxer called out WBC champion Mario Barrios (29-2-1, 18 KOs), WBO titleholder Brian Norman Jr. (26-0, 20 KOs), and IBF champion Jaron Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs):
“I’ve worked my whole life to become a world champion, but my goal doesn’t stop there. I want to unify the titles and prove that I’m the best welterweight in the world. No more excuses—let’s make these unification fights happen. I’m ready for whoever’s first.
Mario Barrios is a strong champion, bringing power and heart into the ring. A fight between us would be explosive. I respect what he’s accomplished in the sport, but I believe my skills and determination will make the difference. Let’s give the fans a battle they’ll never forget.
Brian Norman Jr. has proven he deserves to be at the top, and he keeps getting better. I know he’s eager to show the world what he can do. This fight would be high-stakes between two guys who never back down. I’m ready to put my belt on the line to make it happen.
Jaron Ennis is one of the most dangerous boxers around today. He’s fast, strong, and technical, but I believe in myself and my ability to stand with anyone in the ring. Fans have been asking for this fight for a while, and I want to make it reality. Unification bouts like this build a legacy.
The welterweight division is one of the most exciting in boxing, and I want to be the fighter who unifies it. To all the champions out there: let’s make these fights. No excuses. The time has come,” said Stanionis.
In May of last year, Stanionis defeated Gabriel Maestre by unanimous decision. That bout was Eimantas’s first since April 2022.
