Tim Tszyu Stops Joseph Spencer Early

On April 6 at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Newcastle, Australia, former world champion Tim Tszyu (25-2, 18 KOs) faced off against American Joseph Spencer (19-2, 11 KOs) for the WBO Inter-Continental super welterweight title (69.9 kg / 154 lbs limit).

Tszyu claimed victory via fourth-round technical knockout. After absorbing a barrage of unanswered punches, Spencer's corner threw in the towel, ending the contest.

This marks a much-needed return to the win column for Tszyu, who had suffered two consecutive losses—first by split decision to Sebastian Fundora in March 2024, then by third-round TKO to Bakhram Murtazaliev in October.

For Spencer, the defeat snaps a three-fight winning streak.
