WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) commented on the cut that led to the postponement of his fight against WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). He states that it's normal and such incidents can happen again.
"You know what? Shit happens in this game. It wasn't the first time and it won't be the last time. Fights get canceled due to injuries. At first, I was a bit furious, thinking the fight wouldn't happen because we didn't have a date. But as soon as we got a date two days later – it was fantastic. All is well," Fury said.
The Usyk vs. Fury fight has been rescheduled for May 18. The bout was originally set for February 17 but was postponed due to Tyson's cut.
