World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Sulaiman, in a statement to Pro Boxing Fans, discussed the future of WBA, WBO, WBC welterweight champion Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs).
In his previous fight, Crawford defeated Errol Spence Jr. (28-1, 22 KOs) to become the undisputed champion. Following this, Spence activated his right to a rematch.
Sulaiman announced that there will not be a rematch between the two boxers and now they are giving time to Crawford's team to decide on the future.
This decision comes after Spence, having expressed his desire for a rematch, underwent another eye surgery. Following this procedure, Spence's team has not informed of their future plans.
