Virgil Ortiz, the WBA Gold welterweight champion with a perfect record of 19 wins and 19 knockouts, won't be able to fight Eimantas Stanionis, the WBA World titleholder with a record of 14 wins and 9 KOs, on their scheduled April 29 bout.
This is the second time the match has been postponed. The first time was in March when Stanionis had to have his appendix removed. Now, Ortiz's health problems have forced the fight to be delayed again.
Ortiz's last fight was in August 2022 when he defeated Michael McKinson. Meanwhile, Stanionis won against Rajab Butaev via a split decision in April last year.
