On June 10th, in New York's Madison Square Garden, there will be a showdown between WBO welterweight champion Josh Taylor and former world lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez.
As reported by ESPN's Mike Copinger, the fight will be for the WBO welterweight title.
“We are ready to fight. Teo is set on Josh Taylor like he was set on Lomachenko,” said Lopez's manager David McWater.
Previously, there was a possibility that the Taylor vs Lopez fight could occur in Great Britain.
It is worth noting that Lopez became the WBO international champion in the welterweight division after defeating Sandor Martin in a WBC eliminator fight. Following the win, Lopez mentioned Josh Taylor as a potential adversary.
In Taylor's most recent match in February, he fought Jack Catterall, and they agreed to a rematch slated for March 2023, which had to be delayed due to Taylor's injury.
