WBA super welterweight champion Terence Crawford shared his thoughts on Keyshawn Davis’ (13-0, 9 KOs) victory over Denys Berinchyk (19-1, 9 KOs) and his rise to the WBO lightweight title.
"My guy handled business. I’m proud of him. I’m happy. He went in there and did what he had to do, and now he’s a world champion. He was calm, composed, and ready. I told him, ‘Go out there and enjoy the moment. Just go out, have fun, and be a man.’
I knew Berinchyk couldn’t handle his power. So I told him, ‘You know what? Don’t rush, take your time. You’re younger, physically stronger. Just go out there, enjoy the moment, and have fun,’" Crawford said.
On the night of February 15, Keyshawn Davis stopped Berinchyk in the fourth round, claiming the WBO lightweight world title.
After his victory, Davis called out the division’s other champions, signaling his intent to unify the belts.
