Australian Heavyweight prospect Teremoana Junior has shared his thoughts on a potential fight against Britain’s Moses Itauma, stressing that the bout is only a matter of time and all but inevitable.
“I think the chances of this fight happening are very high. It’s a matter of time. I believe within two or three years we can definitely see this fight. That’s just my opinion, but I’m almost certain it will happen.
It’s a very exciting moment for Moses: in the Heavyweight division right now, a new wave of talent is emerging. At the same time, the older generation is fading, while the new one is surging forward. We’re entering a period where it will be necessary to prove who’s the best.
And we can see there are two strong contenders — myself and Moses. When the time comes, we’ll find out who’s better.
I watched his last fight. Very impressed. He’s fast, explosive, strong. But everything will become clear once he goes a few rounds, just like me. Then we’ll get the full picture. From there, we move forward,” said Teremoana.
In June, Teremoana Junior (8-0, 8 KOs) stopped Alim Whitfield via first-round TKO. Since December 2024, the Australian has fought four times — all ending in first-round victories.
On August 16, Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) knocked out Dillian Whyte in the first round. Remarkably, in his last nine bouts, none of Itauma’s opponents have lasted beyond two rounds.
