Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has revealed details about a three-fight offer from Saudi Arabian organizers for their boxer, American Teofimo Lopez.
"The Saudis approached us and proposed a three-fight agreement with Teofimo, which we really like. Now, it’s up to Teofimo—he has to give his approval.
The Saudis have made a serious move, and as far as Top Rank is concerned, we’re satisfied with the offer and the terms. Now everything depends on Teofimo. I’ll return to Las Vegas on Saturday and reach out to Teofimo and his team to see how things move forward.
We are in negotiations with the Saudis for a fight between Teofimo and IBF super lightweight champion Richardson Hitchins. We’ve had a good relationship with Teo, but there comes a time when fighters seek a bit more independence. That’s not unusual—it happens.
However, I believe Teofimo will like the package offered by the Saudis, and we’ll proceed based on that," Arum said.
Teofimo Lopez has not fought since June 2024, when he secured a decision win over Steve Claggett.
