Teofimo Lopez Secures an Opponent?

ESPN insider Mike Coppinger reports that WBO super lightweight (up to 63,5 kg) champion American Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs) is finalizing negotiations for a fight against Canadian Steve Claggett (38-7-2, 26 KOs).

This will be Teofimo's second title defense. The preliminary date for the bout is June 29th, potentially taking place in Miami, USA.

In his last fight in February 2024, Teofimo won by unanimous decision against Jermaine Ortiz. Claggett, in January 2024, secured an early victory against Marcos Gonzalez Berrazu.
