Teofimo Lopez, WBO super lightweight champion, cleared the air on his retirement talk after his victory over Josh Taylor.
"I wasn't going to retire - it was all for the show, a twist to work the media," he explained. Recalling his earlier bout, he added, "Like when I doubted myself after the Sandor Martin fight, then flipped it after defeating Taylor."
Lopez is now gearing up for his next battle. On February 8, he's set to trade punches with Jemaine Ortiz in Las Vegas.
