Teofimo Promises Imminent Deal With Shakur

WBO junior welterweight world champion Teofimo Lopez has stated that an agreement for a fight with WBC lightweight titleholder Shakur Stevenson is close to being finalized.

“Now it’s time to back up the talk. Yes, we’re looking forward to a fight with Shakur Stevenson in early 2026. I’m really excited for this one.

We haven’t reached the point of signing yet. We’re still negotiating. The paperwork is going back and forth.

Very soon, boxing fans around the world will see that we’ve finalized the deal,” said Lopez.

Teofimo Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) last fought in the spring of 2025, earning a decision win over Arnold Barboza. Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) most recently outboxed William Zepeda.
