Ortiz Downed by Teofimo: Lopez's Lefts Lead to Unanimous Decision!

On the night of February 9, in the heart of Las Vegas, Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs) squared off with Jamaine Ortiz (17-2-1, 8 KOs) for the coveted WBO World Super Lightweight title, tipping the scales at 63.5 kg.

In a unanimous decision, the judges tallied twice at 115-113 and a solid 117-111, all in favor of Lopez, crowning him the victor. This episode marked Teofimo's first title defense since snagging the belt from former undisputed champ Josh Taylor last summer.

For Ortiz, stepping into the welterweight ring was his sophomore appearance, having climbed the weight class from his previous lightweight battles.
