Tellez Misses Weight: Fight Against Serrano to Proceed, but No Titles on the Line

Mexican athlete Reina Tellez failed to make weight for her bout against the WBA, WBO, and IBO featherweight champion Amanda Serrano. Previously, she tipped the scales at 57.5 kg (126.8 lbs) and was given two hours to reach the category limit.

Following her second attempt, Tellez weighed in at 57.4 kg (126.6 lbs).

Most Valuable Promotions announced that the fight will still take place, but Reina Tellez (13-0-1, 5 KOs) will be ineligible to compete for the WBO and WBA belts.

The encounter is set for January 3, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
