Teddy Atlas Names the Top 10 Greatest Punchers in Boxing History

Renowned American trainer Teddy Atlas unveiled his list of boxing’s ten most explosive punchers on his podcast THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas.

First, let me lay out the criteria I always try to follow. Sure, this list is my personal opinion—but what’s it built on?

Number of knockouts comes first. Level of opposition is also baked in. Career longevity is part of the equation, along with total fights. Someone might spend 20 years in the sport yet have only 30 bouts; I’m talking about fighters who enjoyed long careers and stayed active.

I think I’ve come up with a solid list. Honestly, it was tough leaving a few guys out. I actually started with 16 names but had to trim it to ten,” Atlas explained.
