Teddy Atlas gave reasons for why a rematch clause was unnecessary in Tyson's contract for his fight against Usyk

The famous American trainer Teddy Atlas believes that the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury could demand to waive the rematch clause in his contract for the fight with the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO title holder Oleksandr Usyk, as he plans to retire after that.

"Let's put it this way: Fury made a lot more money than Usyk. I don't think he needs a rematch. I'm not trying to be harsh here. I answer the question seriously. I think he's probably trying to close up. Maybe. I don't think that's a wild guess for Fury.''

“He had a great career. He still has a great career. No one knows how much longer it will last. It depends on him. I don't want to count other people's money, but it looks like he has enough of it for two lifetimes."

"That's what it sounds like to me. Fury doesn't need to think about anything after that. Perhaps he has already decided for himself that he will not do anything else after that,” Atlas said.
