Teddy Atlas Explains How Adeleye Can Beat Hrgovic

American trainer Teddy Atlas shared his thoughts on the upcoming Heavyweight clash between Croatian Filip Hrgovic and Briton David Adeleye.

Adeleye has to shake him up. He’s not going the distance, and he can’t beat Hrgovic on points. I don’t think he’s consistent enough offensively or mentally. He’s unstable and erratic, works in spurts.

Adeleye is not the most exciting fighter. He’s big, strong, has a powerful punch, and is an awkward opponent. But if you get close to him — he’ll grab. It could turn into a real clinch-fest, I’ve seen that with him before.

Hrgovic is not too difficult to land on. So, with Adeleye’s power, he has a puncher’s chance. But if Hrgovic doesn’t get knocked out, he wins. He’s more consistent — both mentally and in his offense. Round after round, Adeleye is too patchy, there’s just too much inconsistency in what he does,” Atlas said.

The fight between Filip Hrgovic (18-1, 14 KOs) and David Adeleye (14-1, 13 KOs) will take place on August 16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
