Teams Ngannou and Wilder are in negotiations. Details from Deontay's coach.

The coach of former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, Malik Scott, has revealed that his athlete may face former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. According to him, negotiations are already underway:

"We are already in talks about the fight. Ngannou is one of the options, and we will see how things go. Undoubtedly, negotiations have started.

Personally, I believe that Ngannou is ready to do good business. I have already discussed this with Deontay. Ngannou is a mature and balanced fighter, even though he has no professional boxing experience; he is still big and strong.

Francis is much more dangerous than Andy Ruiz. That's for sure, judging by what I saw from him last night. Ngannou showed patience and punching power," Scott told Boxing 24.

On the night of October 29, Francis Ngannou made his professional boxing debut. He lost to Tyson Fury by a split decision, sending him down in the third round. Deontay Wilder has not fought since October 2022 when he knocked out Robert Helenius in the first round.
