Former undisputed junior welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) Josh Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs) tried to get inside the head of his future opponent Jack Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs), with whom he will have a rematch on May 25. He claims that Catterall’s only championship chance was in their first encounter.
«I think he’s so pissed off because he knows he blew his chance. He blew it. If he had pressed the gas in the later rounds, he might have won, but he didn’t. He tried to press, but it was me pressing more in the second half of the fight.
That’s probably what’s eating him up now. He’ll never be a world champion. He’ll never be a world champion. That’s what I believe. He had his chance against me to grab all the belts and make history, but he blew it.
The division is heating up again with top fighters that I don’t believe he can beat. He missed his chance,» said Taylor.
They first fought in February 2022, where Taylor won by split decision.
