The WBC welterweight title fight between Jose Cepeda (35-2, 27 KOs) and Regis Progress (27-1, 22 KOs) will take place on November 26.

The fight will be organized by MarvNation Promotions, which has offered a prize pool of $2.4 million. Previously, the boxers could not independently agree on the budget of the fight within the set deadline, and the WBC determined the organizers at the promotional auction.

Cepeda holds the WBC Silver welterweight title, which he won in October 2020 after defeating Ivan Baranchyk of Belarus. Since then, Jose has made three successful defenses against Henry Lundy, Jose Vargas and Francisco Perez.

Progress is a former WBA welterweight world champion. He entered the ring in March of this year and won by technical knockout in the first round of the British Tyrone McCann.

It will be recalled that Josh Taylor gave up the championship belt of the WBC in the first welterweight at the beginning of July. The Scot vacated the title and will not defend it.
