Suleiman Confirms Gvozdyk vs. Benavidez Fight

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, via his Twitter page, confirmed the fight between former champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) and the WBC "interim" super middleweight champion David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs).

"I am very proud to announce a sensational fight that the WBC has sanctioned for the 'interim' light heavyweight title between Benavidez and Gvozdyk. We wish luck to both champions," Sulaiman wrote.

In his last fight, which took place in September of the previous year, Oleksandr Gvozdyk knocked out Isaac Rodriguez (28-5, 22 KOs) in the second round. David Benavidez, in November 2023, won by technical knockout against Demetrius Andrade (32-1, 19 KOs).
