WBC President and advisor to Ready To Fight, Mauricio Sulaiman, commented on the upcoming fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title between titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).
"Ukraine is going through so much right now. They have many good fighters. Bohachuk just won the WBC interim champion belt; he was recently in Mexico. Lomachenko is going to Australia to reclaim his title. Gvozdyk will fight Benavidez. The strength behind a country that has been invaded has a lot of energy, and victories in boxing elevate the spirits of its citizens, so Usyk's victory would be a great moment for Ukrainian boxing," Sulaiman said.
The fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is set for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
