Stevenson: I will fight Lomachenko

American boxer Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs) commented on his victory over Robson Conceição (17-2, 8 KOs). Shakur also announced his readiness to fight Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko.

"I had a long week. All I wanted to do was get in the ring and perform. I did everything I could - and everything to beat Conceicao."

"I have to fight the champion. Maybe it will be Haney. After his rematch with Kambosos, I'm ready. I will also fight with Lomachenko," Shakur emphasized.

The fight between Stevenson and Conceicao lasted all 12 rounds. According to the results of the fight, all three judges gave a clear advantage to Stevenson - 117-109, 118-108 and 117-109.

Shakur did not fit in the weight limit on the eve of the fight, which caused the American to vacate the WBO and WBC featherweight titles. Earlier, the boxer said that he was ready to move to the lightweight division.

Promoter Bob Arum believes that the fight between Lomachenko and Stevenson can be realistically organized in 2023. Shakur himself expressed a similar opinion.

Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko will fight Jemaine Ortiz on October 29 at Madison Square Garden in New York. In case of victory, Lomachenko is counting on a match with the absolute champion in the light weight, Devin Haney.

Haney and his father are reportedly interested in fighting Vasyl. Before that, the American will hold a rematch with ex-champion George Kambosos on the night of October 16 in Melbourne.
