Insider: Spence Plans to Return in Fight Against Charlo

According to insider Mike Coppinger of The Ring, former Welterweight world champion Errol Spence may return to the ring in a showdown with former undisputed Super Welterweight champion Jermell Charlo.

The fight is being targeted for early 2026. Recently, Charlo himself announced his plans to return to the ring.

Errol Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) last fought in 2023, when he was knocked out by Terence Crawford in their undisputed title clash. Jermell Charlo (35-2-1, 19 KOs) has also been inactive since 2023, when he lost a decision to Saul Alvarez. At one point, both Charlo and Spence trained under the same coach, Derrick James, in the same gym.
