Ukrainian heavyweight contender Vladyslav Sirenko (19-0, 16 KOs) has spoken out about the unexpected cancellation of his fight. On March 5th, Sirenko was scheduled to fight Deon Ronnie Coyle (5-17-1, 4 KOs) after nearly a three-year hiatus. However, the bout did not take place. In a comment to Tribuna.com, Vladyslav shared what happened.
"We were actually waiting and preparing for another fight, and this match and show were our backup option. Therefore, events unfolded very rapidly, and plans changed every day. However, my opponent was arrested. I don’t know more details," said Sirenko.
The Ukrainian hasn't fought since 2021, when he won by technical knockout in the 6th round against Andriy Rudenko. Later, Sirenko sustained an injury and underwent two surgeries.
