Sirenko Could Have Met Andy Ruiz

James Ali Bashir, the coach of Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Vladyslav Sirenko (20-0, 17 KOs), revealed that his athlete was offered fights against former world champion Mexican Andy Ruiz and American Michael Hunter.

- We had several deals fall through. At one time, we had an offer for Michael Hunter. Recently, we were offered a fight against Andy Ruiz, but Jarrell Miller got that match. So we are working on it.

- How close were you when the offer for Ruiz came?

- It was recent. I saw that Jarrell Miller got that fight. But they asked us if we would take the fight. I told them, 'Yes, we would take the fight.' I think it would have been a good match for Vlad.

- Do you feel he is ready for the next fight?

- Yes, I think he is ready. His record is 20-0, 17 KOs. If he's not ready now, he'll never be ready, - Bashir stated.

Sirenko returned to the ring after an injury and a lengthy recovery in early April, defeating Deon Ronnie Gale.
