Ukrainian welterweight boxer Taras Shelestyuk (19-0-1, 13 KOs) announced on Twitter his return to the ring in the spring.
"Good news. I will be back in the ring at the end of April or the beginning of May. Way to 20-0. I cannot be stopped!" - wrote the Ukrainian.
Shelestyuk fought his last fight in March last year. The eliminator fight according to the WBA version between the Ukrainian and Gabriel Maestre from Venezuela ended in a draw.
Shelestyuk planned to fight in December against IBO world champion Daniyar Yeleusinov (11-0, 6 KOs) from Kazakhstan. However, his opponent refused the match.
Taras planned to have a second fight with Maestre. The Ukrainian also expressed his desire to meet the undefeated American Virgil Ortiz.
Shelestyuk is the bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympics, the world champion among amateurs in 2011 and the bronze medalist of the European Championship in 2010. He has been performing in the professional ring since 2013.
