53-year-old former world champion Shannon Briggs has shared his thoughts on a possible fight between undisputed Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and rising prospect Moses Itauma.
“Yes, I’m excited about Itauma. He’s something new. He does his thing — he knocks out everyone they put in front of him. We just want to see more, that’s all.
Is Moses ready for a fight with Usyk? That’s too much, too early. But I would like to see him take a step forward and then maybe get something like that,” said Briggs.
In July, Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) reclaimed his undisputed status by knocking out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round.
In August, Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) defeated Dillian Whyte via first-round technical knockout.
