Ben Shalom, head of the promotional company Boxxer, has revealed details about the next fight for his client, former middleweight champion (up to 72.5 kg) Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs).
– Obviously, many are talking about the potential venue for the fight, but what names would you like to see next for Chris Eubank? Everyone's curious after it became clear that it's not Canelo. So who will be the next opponent?
– We just decided, we just signed... In short, we just finalized the agreement... I can't name names because there are other interested parties and other aspects.
– But is it a fighter from the USA or the UK? Will the fight be in the USA or the UK?
– I won't say, but I'll hint: In my opinion, Chris Eubank is in the top three names in the UK. And this is one of those fights your mom, your girlfriend, and casual fans know about. Chris Eubank is a huge name and a standout star in pay-per-view. He has carried PPV on his own before; not many fighters can do that. We're excited to be with him, to make noise, and to stage big fights with him.
– Allow me to press you a bit because people will be watching this, and to promote the fight, give us a short list of three names who it could be.
– I can't, Ben replied good-naturedly.
– What about the month?
– Late September – early October. I can't name the location, but it will be known soon. He hasn't fought since last September, and I'm just looking forward to the resumption of his career and hope he achieves what he wants.
Chris Eubank Jr. hasn't fought since 2023, when he traded technical knockouts in a two-fight series with fellow Brit Liam Smith (33-4-1, 20 KOs).
