Former featherweight world champion Shakur Stevenson would like to fight in the lightweight category against Jemaine Ortiz, who fought to a draw with former three-division champion Vasyl Lomachenko in October.
"I have Jemaine Ortiz on my list. I know him personally. He is not going to refuse. He does not hide from anyone. He did a great job with Lomachenko. He was simply a leader. I already know that it is difficult for anyone to fight with him."
“He's the leader, I think he'll start the first six rounds hard. Then for the next six it will subside. The world would love to see this fight based on what he did to Lomachenko alone. Vasyl has grown old and is slowly fading away. I am a young killer. If we fight with Ortiz, it will not be the same as with Lomachenko."
Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. According to the results of the fight, all three judges gave victory to Lomachenko - 115:113, 116:112 and 117:111.
Earlier, Shakur Stevenson said that he would like to fight Lomachenko and Jervonta Davis. Stevenson also said that his first opponent in the lightweight category could be former absolute world champion George Kambosos.
In the last fight, Stevenson won against Robson Conceicao. At the same time, the American did not fit into the regulated weight and vacated the WBO and WBC titles in the second featherweight.
