It’s official—WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) has a new opponent. British contender Josh Padley (15-0, 4 KOs) has stepped in to replace Floyd Schofield.
Earlier, it was confirmed that Schofield was pulled from the fight due to illness. His father suggested foul play, insinuating that Floyd had been poisoned and placing blame on Team Shakur and Eddie Hearn.
The Stevenson vs. Padley showdown will take place on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In his last bout, Padley secured a victory over Mark Chamberlain.
