Shakur Stevenson Reveals When He’ll Fight Gervonta Davis

WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) shared that he expects a showdown next year with WBA titleholder Gervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs).

"Next year is perfect. This fight needs to happen, and there’s no reason for it not to. It’ll be a clash of the best, and I can’t wait. I’m confident in my victory. I think many will bet on my opponent and lose money, but those who do will regret it. My hand is healing, and I should be 100% ready either by the end of this month or next," Shakur said.

In July, Stevenson won by unanimous decision against Artem Harutyunyan (12-2, 7 KOs). He was set to return to the ring in October against Joe Cordina (17-1, 9 KOs), but the fight was canceled due to Shakur's injury, which required surgery.

Gervonta Davis, meanwhile, stopped Frank Martin (18-1, 12 KOs) with an eighth-round knockout in June. "Tank’s" next fight is scheduled for December 14 against Lamont Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs).
