Shakur Stevenson Stops Josh Padley

On February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Shakur Stevenson (23-0, 11 KOs) successfully defended his WBC lightweight title with a dominant ninth-round stoppage over Josh Padley (15-1, 4 KOs).

Stevenson sent Padley down three times in the ninth round, all with body shots, prompting Padley’s corner to throw in the towel and stop the fight.

This marks Padley’s first career defeat—he stepped in as a late replacement, accepting the fight just four days before stepping into the ring.

For Stevenson, it’s his first stoppage win since 2023, when he made his lightweight debut.
