Shakur Stevenson Signs Contract for His Next Fight

WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) announced that he has signed an agreement for a bout with Floyd Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs).

"Today I signed the contract for this, but I don’t believe everything I see on social media. Who knows what’s actually true? All I can do is my part, and I’ll believe it when I see his signature," Stevenson wrote.

In July, Shakur Stevenson defeated Artem Harutyunyan (12-2, 7 KOs) via unanimous decision. He was scheduled to face Joe Cordina (17-1, 9 KOs) on October 12, but a hand injury forced the fight to be canceled. Afterward, the most likely opponent seemed to be unbeaten Mexican William Zepeda (32-0, 27 KOs), but he also sustained an injury during his last bout.

On November 2, Floyd Schofield secured a unanimous decision victory over Rene Tellez Giron (20-4, 13 KOs).
