WBC Lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson revealed his next potential opponents.
According to the American, his top priority is WBO Super Lightweight Champion Teofimo Lopez, followed by WBA Super Featherweight Champion Lamont Roach.
“I have two names right now. Teo is the priority, and then Lamont. So depending on how much money is offered and which proposal makes the most sense, I’ll fight either Teofimo Lopez or Lamont Roach. These are great fights. I think fans would be very excited about both. Regarding Teo, that fight could raise me in the P4P rankings because he’s that kind of fighter. Yes, I think it would be a great fight. And Lamont is also interesting — he’s on a high after what he did with Tank (Gervonta Davis). Both options are excellent for me,” said Stevenson.
On July 12, Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) defeated interim WBC champion William Zepeda by unanimous decision.
In May, Teofimo Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) beat Arnold Barboza via unanimous decision.
Lamont Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs) last fought in March, when he drew with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. A rematch was scheduled for August, but Roach later confirmed it likely won’t happen due to lack of clarity from Davis’ team. Soon after, it was revealed that Davis will instead face Jake Paul.
