Shakur on Gervonta: "I Already Make Big Money"

WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (23-0, 11 KOs) has addressed the possibility of a fight against WBA titleholder Gervonta "Tank" Davis (30-0, 28 KOs). While Stevenson made it clear he’s interested in the matchup, he insists he doesn’t need it.

"You have to ask him. How is he going to hit me? How is he going to land his shots when I’ve seen him throw them a million times? I can’t wait for this to happen.

Turki [Alalshikh] is the one who wants to make this fight happen.

If he reaches out to me and says he wants this fight, I’m open to negotiations to see if we can come to an agreement and make it a reality. But I don’t need him. I already make big money every time I step into the ring, but I’d love for this fight to happen. It’s all up to him," Stevenson said in an interview with SecondsOut.

On February 22, Stevenson scored a 9th-round TKO victory over Josh Padley. Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis is set to defend his title against Lamont Roach on March 1.
