Shakur Stevenson Publicly Apologizes to Turki Alalshikh

WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has issued a public apology to Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. The American fighter had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the purse offered by Alalshikh for a potential bout against William Zepeda.

“I’m looking forward to my next fight. This was a misunderstanding between Turki and my team.

I apologize for my overreaction. Let’s work together,” Stevenson stated.

Earlier, Shakur had urged Zepeda’s team to make the fight happen, even saying at the time that money wasn’t the issue for him.
