Shakur Plans to Change Categories

WBC lightweight champion American Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) has announced his plans to move up to a heavier weight class to fight Teofimo Lopez. He made this statement while answering questions on Twitter.

- I want to know, considering Ryan is moving up to welterweight, will you move up to super lightweight to fight Teofimo Lopez?

- Yes, I will do that, - Stevenson replied.

Currently, both Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez do not have opponents lined up for upcoming fights. Shakur has not boxed since 2023, when he outboxed Edwin De Los Santos by decision. Teofimo recently outboxed Jemain Ortiz in early 2024.
