Shakur on Fighting Sepeda: "Let's Make It Happen"

After his victory over Mark Hughes (26-7-2, 5 KOs), Mexican lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) William Sepeda (30-0, 26 KOs) called out WBC champion Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) for a fight. Shakur responded, indicating his willingness to face Sepeda in the ring.

"He's also the #1 by WBC… A real killer right in front of me, and I've got no opponents. Lol, next fight Stevenson vs. Sepeda, let's make it happen," Stevenson tweeted.

Shakur Stevenson last entered the ring in November, when he defeated Edwin De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) by unanimous decision. It was after this victory that Shakur became the WBC champion in the lightweight category.

On March 17th at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, USA, in a WBA and IBF eliminator, Mexican William Sepeda met with Brit Maxi Hughes. The fight ended in victory for Sepeda after Hughes decided not to continue — RTD 4. Now William is the mandatory challenger for the WBA and IBF titles in the lightweight division.
