WBC lightweight champion American Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) responded to a tweet by Evan Corn, the Director of Communications for the promotional company Top Rank, which explained why former three-division world champion Vasyl Lomachenko can be considered a legendary fighter.
"396-1 in the amateurs. Two Olympic gold medals. World champion in three weight classes. Beat Gary Russell Jr. in his third professional bout. And in an era where many fighters play the 'A-side' game to avoid challenges, Loma has never turned down the toughest opponents," Evan wrote.
Shakur agreed with the legendary status of the Ukrainian boxer.
"A legendary fighter, no doubt. If he were bigger, he would be hell for many people. But the only thing is, will he fight me before he leaves Evan?" Stevenson replied.
Lomachenko's next fight is scheduled for May 12th in Australia for the IBF title against George Kambosos. Shakur Stevenson hasn't boxed since the end of 2023 and still does not have an opponent named.
