WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) has issued a fight challenge to WBA champion in the same weight class, Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs).
"Who's in the top 2 at lightweight? Why don't we fight this year? If you've got a 6-7 fight deal, why can't I be first on your list since all you say is that I'm a gangster. Gervonta, you come here barking, but you surely don't want to see me as your next opponent, kitty," wrote Shakur.
In response, Gervonta shared a video from Stevenson's last fight against Oscar De Los Santos, captioning it:
"What is this... Dude's still fighting like an amateur. Soft ass nigger," wrote Davis.
Gervonta plans a summer return in a fight against Frank Martin. Shakur has not fought since his bout with De Los Santos and does not have a named opponent yet.
Previously, Jared Anderson's coach claimed that Gervonta is the only one who has said he wants to fight Shakur.
