WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) has virtually confirmed the date and his next opponent through his social media, setting the stage for a July 6th bout against Artem Arutyunyan (12-1, 7 KOs).
"Remember I’m everything u all say. Now time is approaching to get mentally prepared for Artem July 6th the date I love yall," Shakur posted.
Last July, Artem Arutyunyan lost to Frank Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) by unanimous decision. Shakur Stevenson has not fought since November when he defeated Edwin De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) by unanimous decision and claimed the title.
