Senchenko: "Failed to Agree on a Date for Chukhadzhyan vs. Scarff"

In an interview with the National League of Professional Boxing of Ukraine, Vyacheslav Senchenko discussed the situation around the upcoming fight between welterweight (up to 66.67 kg) and Ready To Fight ambassador Karen Chukhadzhyan (23-2, 13 KOs) and Harry Scarff (13-2, 3 KOs).

- Slava, it's been almost a month since the IBF ordered a welterweight eliminator for the mandatory challenger position between Karen Chukhadzhyan and the Briton Harry Scarff. What's the status? Has the contract not been signed yet?

- No. The promotional bids will take place on February 15th in New York. First, let's see how they go. Our team is currently trying to negotiate without going to auction. But as far as I understand, the British side did not agree with the proposed conditions.

And we also failed to agree on a fight date. We proposed March 16th. It seems that date doesn't quite suit them. I think everything will be decided at the auction.

- Is it true that Karen has a contract with Erol Jelan?

- In fact, he doesn't have a signed contract with a promoter as such. He has certain agreements with a manager. And the manager is now working with the German company P2M Box-Promotion.

The preliminary fight with the Italian Pietro Rossetti was precisely from P2M. And now they are conducting negotiations; they will participate in the promotional bids. There's an agreement for 2 or 3 fights. What happens next is still unclear.

It can be said that for these 2-3 fights, P2M acts as Karen's promoter, - said Senchenko.
