"Disrespectful": Scull Outraged by Canelo vs. Crawford Talks

On May 3, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) will defend his undisputed super middleweight titles against Cuban challenger William Scull (23-0, 9 KOs).

At the first press conference, one of the main topics was Scull’s reaction to media and fans already discussing a potential Canelo vs. Terence Crawford fight, which is rumored for September.

"It’s a huge sign of disrespect because I’m a world champion.

Would I like to fight Crawford if I beat Canelo? First, we are fully focused on May 3. We’re bringing all the belts home. And after that, we’ll see what happens.

A victory over Canelo Alvarez would be the greatest achievement for me, my family, Cuban boxing, and my trainer. It would be a dream come true—to defeat a legend and take all of his titles."

Meanwhile, Canelo insists he is not distracted by Crawford talks and remains focused on his debut fight in Saudi Arabia against Scull.

"This will be a tough fight against a tricky Cuban boxing style.

I’m not thinking about September. I’m 100% focused on facing Scull on May 3.

Fighting in Saudi Arabia is a new experience for me, but I’m ready to fight anywhere because the whole world is Canelo’s territory."
