Amer Abdallah, a representative of Skill Challenge Entertainment, has disclosed plans for a major boxing event scheduled for December this year in Saudi Arabia. The event is set to feature high-profile fights between WBA, WBO, and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk and WBC champion Tyson Fury, as well as bouts between former champions Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.
Abdallah revealed that the organizers have already settled on a specific date for the show, but it is being kept under wraps for now.
"We do have a specific date. But I'm not going to tell you. When it happens, I can assure you one thing, it will be the biggest spectacle in boxing. What I have been accustomed to doing in the sport the last 30+ years is different from how Saudi Arabia does it. Prince Khalid, the way he does things, is on a whole different level. If you look at press conferences that come out of The Kingdom, they are entirely different than anything you have seen before.”
“Ask the fighters themselves how they are treated when they come to The Kingdom. Prince Khalid takes a personal initiative. They get top shelf treatment. It's like a breath of fresh air to see that boxing is going over to that side. It's just great to see, it's what the sport needs," Abdallah said on iFL TV.
