Frank Sanchez Gears Up for Agit Kabayel

Mike Borao, co-manager of Cuban heavyweight Frank Sanchez (24-0, 17 KOs), has revealed their intent to arrange a WBC title eliminator fight against German boxer Agit Kabayel (24-0, 16 KOs).

"From our side, we are 100 percent trying to make the fight against Kabayel happen.

Both fighters had fantastic performances in Saudi Arabia, making this a natural match-up with the added bonus of the WBC sanctioning it as an eliminator.

I know PBC will host the fight in the USA, but wherever it takes place, it will be a good one – probably the fastest path to a world title for both fighters.

Kabayel looked great against Mahmoud, but Frank wants to be world champion, so he's ready to face a tough challenge," Borao stated.

In early February 2024, the WBC ordered Sanchez and Kabayel to negotiate an eliminator in the heavyweight division. Tyson Fury currently holds the title, but he will be facing Oleksandr Usyk on May 18.
